Two Ilkley youngsters star in cup-winning league representative side

Every summer Yorkshire’s 18 Junior Leagues pit their wits against each other in a competition known as The Lord’s Taverners.

Thomas Dover and Woody Luffman relish in Aire-Wharfe outfit’s triumph!

There are various age group who represent the Lord’s Taverners and this year, two Ilkley CC members were selected for the Aire-Wharfe U15’s team - Edward Luffman and Thomas Dover.

Having progressed through the qualifiers the AWJCL beat Upper Airedale in the semi to take on Barnsley in the Final on 1st September at Upper Horton Cricket Club, Wakefield.

In a tight 45 over game AWJCL posted 165-5 and restricted Barnsley to 93 all out to win the Cup.

The two Ilkley boys had a great journey, made key contributions throughout the competition and created cricketing memories that will last with them for a very long time.
